Evans Anyona is a seasoned Kisii Businessman who has dominated the transportation industry in Kenya.

He has achieved this through years of experience, significant financial resources, and investments worth millions.

Early Life and Education

Evans Anyona Nyagaka was born in 1968 in a poverty-stricken home in Riabigutu village, Kisii County, Kenya.

Anyona completed his O-levels at Masimba Secondary School, but his education ended there.

The 1992 Famine

Anyona’s breakthrough came in 1992 when a severe drought hit Kenya.

He saw this as an opportunity to earn profits by buying maize at a low price and selling it at a higher price. He made a killing, and this was the beginning of his business career.

The Matatu Business

In 2002, Anyona purchased his first pickup truck and converted it into a matatu.

He soon expanded his fleet, and by 2005, he had partnered with two friends to form Transline Ltd.

The company started with three buses, but it quickly grew to become one of the largest bus companies in Kenya.

The Founding of Transline Classic

In 2010, Transline Classic was established as a separate entity from Transline Ltd.

The company has since grown to have a fleet of over 80 buses and 11-seater shuttles. Transline Classic is known for its high-quality service and its commitment to safety.

The Expansion of Transline Classic

In 2015, Transline Classic expanded its operations to Uganda. The company now has a fleet of buses that ply the Nairobi-Kampala route.

Transline Classic is also planning to expand its operations to other countries in East Africa.

Transline was established in 2005, while ENA was launched in 2008. ENA is an abbreviation for Evans Nyagaka Anyona.
